Another precut named after a dessert! Do you think they know us? The precut we’re talking about is the 10” square, popularly called a Layer Cake, after Moda Fabrics’ offering. 10” squares precut bundles, like Moda’s Jelly Rolls or Charm packs, generally contain 42 pieces, representing each fabric and colorway in a particular line. 10” squares by any other name are just as sweet, though: Wilmington Fabrics treasure their 10 Karat Gems or Crystals, and Hoffman Batiks serve up Bali Crackers, to name a couple.
10” squares offer out-of-the-box quilting possibilities, particularly when paired with one of the many Layer Cake-friendly patterns available now. The ones pictured in our post are:
Precut Primer, by Me and My Sister Designs
Sparklers by Cut Loose Press
Little Logs Starburst by Cut Loose Press
These are only a small sample of the many offerings available. Slice into that layer cake, quilters, and serve up something yummy!
As always,
Happy Stitching!
